Dialog Health organized a digital conference to learn from
Kaiser Permanente's fully integrated health care system, on
Tuesday 2 March 2021.
Historically based in Oakland, California, Kaiser Permanente is one of the largest nonprofit health care companies in the US, serving 12.4 million members. These members contribute to its health insurance and benefit from the services offered in 49 hospitals and 719 primary care centers.
Four experts explained the characteristics of this unique integrative care model. The presentation revolved around four axes:
- Kaiser Permanente's fully integrated health care model.
- Leadership and shared decision-making
- The patient experience with a focus on the place of design.
- HR resilience and support for professionals during the health crises in 2020 and 2021 (COVID-19, fires in California, etc.).
Debra Friesen, a doctor, and her colleagues in charge of the patient experience and professional development of the group shared lessons they have learned from their professional practice with the French participants.
