From March 22nd through 26th of 2015 A seminar titled
"Health care system of Japan" took place in Tokyo. This study tour was attended by leaders and chief physicians from
medical institutions in Russia as well as leading experts of Russia's Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund. Also in attendance were representatives of government agencies and municipal administrations. The participants counted among themselves the representatives of the Ministry of Health of Trans-Baikal region, Department of Health of the Lipetsk region, as well as leaders and senior doctors of several medical institutions in Russia.
Japanese colleagues informed the participants of the delegation about the
specifics of health care in Japan, the prevalent types of health insurance, as well as different types of medical facilities and their operations.
The seminar participants had the opportunity to visit hospitals managed by private and public entities, among which was a privately owned hospital "
Mita" renowned for its active use of innovative techniques in treatment of cancer. During the study tour, members of the delegation visited several facilities including the
Chiba University Hospital, which
combines traditional treatment methods with the latest innovations in medical field. In the course of the trip, Russian doctors were able to visit many hospitals, see the latest technologies and communicate with Japanese colleagues using the
international language of medicine. To be able to see and learn how a public healthcare facility operates in Japan, a visit to the municipal clinic in one of the most prestigious areas of Tokyo was scheduled for the delegation. In this hospital, the Russian colleagues learned about the system of
electronic registration of patients in Japan, the structure of the clinic and its management.
