For the first time in France, four experts from the
Mayo Clinic came to present
their model integrating clinical care, research and teaching. It's the famous secret sauce that allows them to rank number 1 in the world.
Conducted by the thoracic surgeon Stephen Cassivi, the US delegation, consisting of the vice chief nursing officer at the Rochester Hospital and two experienced directors, spent two busy days presenting the concrete organization of the integrated health group.
On the agenda: medical governance, focus on the multidisciplinary team, quality of care and digitization among other topics.
The Mayo Clinic is characterized by a clear mission that has guided the work of all its teams for more than 150 years:
the patient comes first. This affirmation irrigates the action of all the teams and influences the decisions taken at all levels, as much in the clinical as in the administrative services. Organizations are designed to meet the needs of patients before those of professionals, and the triads, managerial trios of a physician, a nurse and a manager work interdependently to ensure that all energies go in this direction. One of the main focuses of the quality policy of the Mayo Clinic is to promote, after wide consultation, the standardization of practices, to guarantee each patient an access to the most effective care.
With the opening of a
diagnostic center in London with Oxford university, Mayo Clinic continues its international expansion with one goal: to enable all patients to benefit from the expertise of its renowned experts. The 80 French leaders present in Paris to discover their model have already been conquered!
