In Zurich, the delegates visited two ORPEA group residences,
Senevita Nordlicht and
Senevita Multengut. These two senior residences offer many apartments for the elderly and are organized to promote autonomy. The Multengut residence thus offers an internal home care service.
In Bern, participants discovered the
Wangenmatt Residence, which is characterized by a strong focus on rehabilitation. Two of his physiotherapists have developed several rehabilitation programs and exercises adapted to the physical needs of seniors (trig ger point therapy, Parkinson, kinesiotaping, manual therapy, Bobath concept ...).
The
Almacasa residence has particularly impressed for its innovative approach to care for people suffering from Alzheimer's disease or related disorders. Vincenzo Paulino, it s Director and Board Member of the
European Aging Network (EAN) welcomed them and shared his vision of the current issues of the silver economy in Europe.
In Italy, the delegation visited four residential facilities for dependent elderly people, each with its own character. The
San Felice residence has been constructed as a tribute to the fashion and design that characterizes the city of Milan. The
Machiavelli nursing home is located in a bucolic setting that promotes the dolce vita for its residents.
Casa Verdi was founded by the famous composer in 1896. Located in Milan, it is a
"house of musicians". Music is the link that unites all residents . It remains one of their main activities and provides a real intergenerational exchange between seniors and studen ts from the three most famous music schools in the city. The students can also live at the residence if they wish.
The delegates of SYNERPA were seduced by this Swiss - Italian mission, which opened up new perspectives on the support of older people in Europe.
