A seminar titled “The French Healthcare System” was held from June 22nd to 26th in Marseille, France. It was attended by the managers and chief physicians of Russian medical institutions, as well as leading experts from the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund.
The high level of this study tour is validated by the presence of representatives of the Regional Health Administration, who informed the participants of the seminar about the features of health care in France, as well as the prevalent types of health insurance and the types of medical establishments.
The delegates of this educational tour had the opportunity to visit hospitals managed by various forms of ownership. One such institution was the St. Joseph Hospital, known for its use of innovative technologies. After the presentation by the hospital’s PR director, the participants had the chance to observe the robotic surgical system Da Vinchi. They also learned about diagnostics that utilize the endoscopic video capsule, as well as about elastography – the imaging method that maps the elastic properties of the liver tissue, which is performed by the FibroScan system.
During a visit to the Public Hospital “Centre hospitalier du Pays d’Aix”, located in Frejus, the director of Quality Control, Ms. Isabelle Gransham informed the participants about the specifics of hospital management, management of resources and the principles of economic incentives for medical personnel. Later, the participants were given a tour of the hospital’s departments.
This educational visit was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Buryatia, Manager of legal and international affairs of Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, Vladislav Povod, as well as managers and chief physicians of several medical institutions in Russia.
